The Americana Series: Saguaros

The most commonly recognizable image associated with the American desert is arguably the Saguaro cactus. These incredible plants can grow as tall as 75 feet and represent the power of the desert ecosystems of the American west. The desert is often misunderstood and seemingly lifeless. Like Saguaros the pedal, Saguaro National Park is teeming with life, nuance, and incredible interactions on a daily basis. The landscape is transformed as the sun sets each night, cooling down and giving the abundant life a chance to survive the brutal landscape. We designed this fuzz to give you the same nuance, character, and control that the power in the desert holds.

Controls

First row of knobs (Northwestern most): Volume and Fuzz

  • Volume controls the master volume of the entire circuit. It gets very loud.
  • Fuzz controls the amount of fuzz present in the saturation part of the circuit. It is highly interactive with the Gain control 

Second row of knobs: Depth, Texture, Gain

  • Depth controls the frequency being fed into the first gain-stage. CW is beefy, CCW is thin and treble-y
  • Texture controls the feel and character of the fuzz.  It is highly interactive with the other controls and behaves somewhat like a tone control 
  • Gain controls the amount of gain coming out of the input Germanium gain stage. It is a powerful tone sculpting control that allows you to starve your signal or add serious saturation

All controls are incredibly interactive. Great tones are available at any setting, but after spending some time with it, you'll really get things dialed in and find fun extremes and middle ground that work for your tastes and rig! 

 

Power

It is CRITICAL that you use a high quality, isolated and filtered power supplies with The Americana Series. Every modern measure was taken to ensure quiet, recording-worthy noise suppression, but low-quality power and power supplies can inject unwanted noise in these effects and cause compatibility issues.  Even though we've designed them to play nicely on a daisy chain, we don't recommend it. 

 

Returns are not accepted on small batch effects like The Americana Series.
